Every project starts with a question? and ends with an experience!
What? Why? How? Wow!
QX Design is a Kolkata-based architecture and design practice exploring sustainable, climate-responsive architecture through natural materials, craft and contemporary design. The studio works across residential, hospitality, institutional and community projects, along with bamboo structures, pavilions, installations and natural building systems. Our work brings together material research, local craftsmanship and technical innovation to create architecture that responds to its place, climate and people.
Ar. Udit Mittal, principal architect and founder of QX Design, has over a decade of experience in sustainable and climate-responsive architecture. His practice explores the contemporary potential of bamboo and natural building systems, working closely with artisans and structural experts. Alongside practice, Udit is engaged in research, teaching and public discourse, advocating for sustainable construction as a mainstream responsibility in architecture.
Skilled hands.
Strong opinions!
A small core studio in Kolkata, plus a network of master artisans we've worked with for years. Everyone you see here has either drawn or built — usually both.
